A 'Top 100 Prep School' for the 13th Consecutive Year

Ranked 15th in the UK and 'Best in Berkshire'

Waverley Prep School is currently ranked 15th in the UK out of over 2,028 Prep Schools and over 18,000 primary schools. We are thrilled that Waverley has moved up from 33rd last year (2023) to 15th this year. This is based purely on academic results of our Year 6 cohort, our current ranking is according to the Department for Education of July 2024.

The Waverley SAT scores from last year are particularly impressive with:

65% of Waverley pupils achieving the highest grade in Reading.
85% of Waverley pupils achieving the highest grade in Punctuation and Spelling.
75% of Waverley pupils achieving the highest grade in Mathematics.

The new ranking of 15^th is the second highest ranking in the school’s history and is only 4 places short of the previous best ranking of 11^th which was set over a decade ago. The rankings are normally distributed by The Times newspaper each year – however, this year the league tables have been distributed directly by the Department for Education.

We are delighted that Waverley Prep School also continues to be the 'Best in Berkshire' due to our consistent ranking in the Top 100 for the past 13 years. Waverley is also ranked top in the Wokingham, Reading and Newbury area.

The results of our Year 6 pupils are ranked against other Prep schools, both single sex and also selective, and reflect high achievement at "Level Five" which is in excess of national expectations for this age group.

This phenomenal achievement is due in no small part to the ethos of the school which values, supports and challenges every child to reach their maximum potential. Our dedicated staff team, supportive parents and happy, hard working pupils are a winning combination.
