Waverley School 66th in Times Top 100 Prep Schools
We were delighted to see that Waverley featured in the Times again this week. The annual Times Top 100 Prep schools were announced and Waverley was in there, proudly sitting at 66th nationally - our highest ranking so far.

The tables are based on the percentage of pupils reaching level 5 (above National expectations) unlike the State school tables which are based on level 4 (at expected level) and it is worth noting how well our pupils also performed at level 6 which is just exceptional.

We are not a selective school and the results that we achieve are a result of the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm of our staff and pupils. I am so very proud of them all.

We're looking forward to continuing with the high expectations and quality teaching and learning to continue our success.

A & E Nurses Visit Year 6
On Monday, two special Accident and Emergency nurses from the Royal Berkshire hospital, Mrs Stancer and Mrs Simmons, visited Year Six to discuss their current science topic of Micro Organisms.

Spring Term Invoices
Invoices are in the bags this week. These are the new style of invoice so if you feel there are any errors or would like clarification of any items; do not hesitate to contact the office. Nursery and Foundation invoices will follow shortly.

Absence and Lateness
The season of coughs and colds is upon us and we are beginning to see a few absences from our Nursery and School children. If your child is going to be absent, please call into the office before 8:45 to let the office know. For the safety of the children we will have to follow up any absence that we are not made aware of.

Similarly, if your child is going to be late into school for any reason please let us know so that the form teachers can be informed. For your information, the school children arrive from 8:30 into the classrooms, they are marked as late if they do not arrive before 8:45. We are obliged to keep a record of each child's absence and lateness so we appreciate your help in keeping this to a minimum.

Netball
The U11 and U9 Netball teams played matches at home against Hawley Place on Wednesday, find out how they got on here http://www.waverleyschool.co.uk/News/U9-U11-Netball-Fixtures

Broadband Speed Campaign
There is currently a campaign running to increase the broadband speeds across Berkshire, we have been asked to pass on the website link to our parents enabling them to register. Waverley will also benefit in the long-term from improved service and speeds. www.superfastberkshire.org.uk/register

Book Fair
The Book Fair will be visiting Waverley from 4th to 7th December in the Main Reception area.

Waverley School Ages and Stages
A number of parents have asked for clarification of the ages of the children as they enter various age groups. The table below shows how we name the year groups and stages that they are in.
