Waverley Preparatory School and Day Nursery

Geography

Geography at Waverley is taught from Reception to Year 6 and covers the key areas of the National Curriculum. Through fun and informative lessons we aim to build children’s geographical enquiry and skills, whilst developing their knowledge and understanding of places, patterns and processes and environmental change and sustainable development.

Teaching with the use of interactive technology alongside traditional teaching methods allows children to enjoy topics such as ‘Weather around the World’, ‘Village Settlers’, and ‘Where in the World is Barnaby Bear’.

Day trips enable pupils to further develop their knowledge in a practical environment and the annual Year 5 and 6 residential field trip is always a resounding success which fuels further enjoyment for the subject.
