After School Club (ASC)
At Waverley, our normal school hours are 08:30 until 15:30hrs. However, we understand that sometimes a pick-up at 15:30hrs is just not possible and care after the normal school day is needed either regularly or on an ad hoc basis.
At After School Club, the focus is on fun with friends - enabling children to unwind after a day at school. In fact, many children choose to come to After School Club rather than be picked up at 15:30hrs! It might be something to do with the 75 different After School Clubs that we offer throughout the year!
We have two sessions available:
- 15:30-16:30hrs
- 16:30-18:00hrs
We offer an exceptional array of after-school activities at Waverley with flexible pick-up times available through to 18:00hrs. Every day there is an activity available for each age group. The week is carefully planned to give a children a balance of artistic, creative and sporting opportunities for all ages.
After School Club takes place across the school but is centred from our Community Hall which has the space for children to either relax on comfortable sofas and giant cushions, or take part in an indoor or outdoor activity. We also have a designated area for supervised homework.
The more active clubs typically take place before tea at 16:45hrs. After tea, the children are encouraged to finish homework, relax, read, play or take part in quieter games such as Lego and puzzles.
After School Club (ASC) is available up to 5 days a week for children. Our sessions are bookable on a termly basis, or on a flexible, ad hoc basis*.
Meals
All children attending After School Club are given a snack at 15:30hrs. A fully cooked tea with dessert is then offered at 16:45hrs to all children staying after 16:30hrs. Snacks and meals are included in our After School Club fees.
Continuity of Care Throughout the School Day and Beyond
Waverley's After School Club is managed by our Clubs Team who are part of the regular Waverley teaching staff. The children therefore enjoy continuity and the benefits of being cared for by familiar staff from early morning, during the school day and through to After School Club.
The vast majority of our clubs are provided by Waverley staff who are specialist teachers in their particular After School Club. A small number of our After School Clubs are provided by qualified, DBS-checked, external professionals eg. fencing and cookery club, to ensure we provide the highest standard of tuition and give children as wide a variety of activities to try as possible.
After School Club (ASC)
Throughout the year, we offer over 75 different After School Clubs with clubs changing on a termly basis to ensure a wide variety of activities. For details on typical clubs offered, please click here to consult our Spring Term Clubs Activities and Fees Guide or view the schedule below.
Club Fees - From January 2025
At Waverley our fee structure means that the core school day (08:30 to 15:30hrs) is charged separately to our clubs taking place before and after the school teaching day. We do not charge 5 days a week of extended day of 08:00 to 18:00hrs as the default fee.
Please note that Wednesdays and Fridays are fixtures for KS2. There therefore may be occasions where children are late back from an away fixture and are late back for the club and unable to attend. There will be no funds in this instance.
