Waverley Preparatory School and Day Nursery

Securing your place at Waverley Prep School

We welcome applications from families of all cultures, ethnic groups and religions. We are not an academically selective school but our very personal admissions process is to ensure that every child who joins us will flourish and that their families will be happy, supportive members of our school community.

Key Entry Points

Reception

The majority of our school places are offered to children looking to join our Reception class (turning 5 years old in that academic year).

Pre-Prep (Year 1 and 2)

Entry into Year 1 and Year 2 is according to the availability of places.

Prep (Years 3-6)

Entry into Year 1 and Year 2 is according to the availability of places.

The Admissions Process - Easy 5-Step Process

1. Make an enquiry

Contact our Head of Admissions, Mrs Helen Jenkins, to discuss your interest and to check availability in the relevant year group.

2. Book a 1-2-1 Tour

Upon receipt of a School Registration Form, we normally invite prospective parents for a 1-2-1 tour with our Head of Admissions. We find personal tours are much more productive and informative for prospective school parents and we no longer hold traditional 'Open Days'.

3. Meet our Head

Prospective pupils and their family are invited to meet our Head, Mr Shore, on a mutually convenient day. As we are a family-friendly school, it is extremely important that we get to know each other well. Having an excellent relationship from the start means that your child will get the most out of their education at Waverley.

4. Taster Day

Children are invited to attend a Taster Day where they spend a normal school day with us in the class of their own age group. This is to ensure any prospective pupil will be happy and settled in our school.

5. Receive an Offer

If your child is offered a place, completion of an Acceptance Form and payment of an Acceptance Fee of £1000 are required to secure your place at Waverley. This is a deposit and is refunded when your child leaves the school. A non-refundable £75 Administration Fee is also due to accept an offer.

Waverley Nursery

Waverley Nursery is an educational Nursery in a rural setting which has been inspected as 'Outstanding'. Please note that our Nursery and School admissions are separate processes and children at Waverley Nursery are not automatically allocated a place at Waverley Prep School.
