Sport

Physical Education is a real strength at Waverley School. We demonstrate an ethos which encourages our pupils to take a positive interest in sport, while emphasising the fact that being active has obvious health benefits as well as being fun.

Our children are involved in a variety of sporting and physical activities ranging from swimming to dance. We also play the traditional games of football, rugby, netball, cricket and rounders in games lessons and in organised matches against other local schools.

The children have ample opportunity to further develop their skills and interests in other school clubs. Many of our pupils progress further to compete at club and county level.

We are also able to offer cross-country running at our school. All junior groups run various distances, according to their age, on the school field and along nearby country paths. Training is offered to build up speed and stamina.
