About Us

The Schools Origins

Waverley School was founded in 1945 and began life in London and then moved to a former hotel converted to school use on a one acre site in Crowthorne, Berkshire.

In 1997 the school moved to the purpose-built building on the current site.  In April 2006 Waverley School became one of a group of independent schools and nurseries owned by CFBT Educational Trust.  The aim of CfBT is to provide affordable, high quality education which delivers equal opportunity and access for all.

About Waverley

As with all CfBT schools Waverley has an inclusive admissions policy and caters for children aged 3-11 years.  Most of our families live within seven miles of the school.

Our inclusive admissions policy means there is a wide range of abilities in the school.  Differentiated work takes place in the classroom.  We pride ourselves on the education we provide and believe we have achieved the right balance between academic and child centred education.  We are proud of our academic achievements.  This is reflected in our test results, where our children consistently score above the national average.
