Waverley School Head’s Welcome

Choosing the right school for your son or daughter is one of the most difficult decisions a parent has to make. A school where your child will be happy, be included and valued and will have opportunities to excel is always going to be the right choice; visitors and our parents remark that Waverley feels different, remarkably happy and yet purposeful.

A curriculum personalised to the learning needs of each child ensures that the gifts and talents of every individual are appreciated and nurtured, and we seek to challenge, support and encourage every child to strive for excellence.

Small class sizes mean individual attention, close monitoring of achievement and opportunities for enrichment and creativity in a curriculum which goes far beyond the requirements of the National Curriculum.

We are a high achieving school and our children benefit not only from excellence in the core subjects of Mathematics, English and Science but also from a broader offering.

Music, additional languages, sport, art and drama are valued highly and a strong feature of the school. The opportunity to take part in competitive sports and to pursue creative endeavours develops well rounded individuals, and this is reflected in the children of Waverley.

The happiness of our pupils is a priority and we are extremely proud of our excellent relationships which are the cornerstone of Waverley’s family ethos. We seek to develop self-confidence, tolerance and kindness in our pupils enabling them to take their place in the world, knowing their self-worth and understanding the contributions they can make to society.

To fully appreciate the benefits of an education at Waverley, we would like to welcome you to visit the school to meet our happy, self-assured children and enthusiastic, caring staff and, of course, experience the warm and nurturing ethos which is a key feature of our success.

“Pupils’ self-confidence and their tolerance, respect for, and kindness towards other members of the community, are an outstanding feature of the school.”
